Voting for the 2024 presidential election is officially underway.
And though Election Day is not until Nov. 5, as Kevin Bacon pointed out when he danced to cast his mail-in ballot, "the election doesn’t start on Nov 5th; that’s when it ends."
In 47 states plus the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands, voters can cast their votes early and in person, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Though Alabama, Mississippi and New Hampshire do not offer early in-person voting, options to send in absentee ballots might still be available.
In addition to absentee voting, which is available in most states for those who won't be able to vote in-person on election day, some states also offer a vote-by-mail option for those who can't or do not want to vote in person. (Vote411 has a handy guide to all the options available to you.)
For those interested in casting votes before Nov. 5, it's important to look into specific state and county guidelines. Not sure where to vote in person? It's easy to locate using this tool.
Read on to see which celebrities are taking advantage of early voting — and sharing selfies with their "I Voted!" sticker to encourage others to do the same.
